We Remain Undaunted! Heading towards the ‘Dharna’ in Islamabad , the limbs objected but the anticipation won over for 71 year old Mrs. Khalid . It was quite a walk flanked by a treacherous one foot broad cement slab with gushing water underneath; the only entrance located in F -6 Sector to the road leading to D Chowk . Her brother Syed Nazim Uddin, 67, the rather sprightly guide eased her slowly over the narrow passage using his pocket torch. Things appear more difficult as the years set in and fear of losing her balance made her cry out helplessly. Regardless, the siblings could not wait to join the crowd to witness a unique gathering of people who shared the same vision. Struggling through uneven steps and long walks, they were overwhelmed by the spirit of the helpful and courteous youngsters who would appear from nowhere, guide them and be replaced by similar escorts. As they moved forward, many more would create ways for them through the crowd, help them to seats on the sides( as being in the ladies area would mean they would not be together) and ensure their safety and comfort. Syed Nazim Uddin looked at his leader with pride and joined the chanting with more zest than the youngsters. Being through years of political change and strife, developing affinities, enduring disappointments, some happy times, dejections and finally acceptance of conditions as they were- a new possibility emerged in the form of Pakistan Tehreek E Insaaf. As they looked at the crowd and heard the speeches, they experienced a sense of unity, a bonding between the thousands of people present; a yearning and love for self-respect, for dignity, for honour, admiration for the people of Pakistan by the rest of the world – a desire to pay tribute to our country and fellow men that could only be sought by truth and integrity. They could see the picture of tomorrow gleaming through the eyes of the honourable youth, the shining aspirations in the faces of the crowd of a country that would one day be known for its success-A glory gained through purposeful efforts committed to excellence – Pakistani’s who would need no one but their Creator and mastery of their professional pursuits. Excited , and with tears in their eyes, the siblings prayed for the happiness they envisioned for the future and that it would be achieved by their leader; that he remained as motivated , honest , committed as he was to the cause of Pakistan and meet and exceed all the expectations of his followers and of all Pakistani population. He would be a leader who would select wisely and inspire the people as he had already done and boast of their achievements. Every word, every expression, all feelings told them that night that the Champion for Transformation had Arrived!
